Update from Fanball:
The News
Outfielder Larry Walker's back problems took a turn for the worse this week. The St. Louis Post-Dispatch is reporting that he will likely miss the next several days of workouts after aggravating a sprained back on Monday. "I think you have to be a little concerned," manager Tony La Russa told the paper before Wednesday's workout. "It's bad enough that he can't get out there." The team expects Walker to miss a week of games and will closely watch his condition once he returns to the field.
Our View
Walker has been getting treatment every day since arriving at spring training for his back spasms but they haven't done the trick. Fantasy owners know that injuries are always a concern with Larry, and that is especially the case now that he is a 38-year-old without the option of being hid in the designated hitter's slot.
Maine has a good swing for a pitcher but on anything that moves, he has no chance. And if it's a fastball, it has to be up in the zone. Basically, the pitcher has to hit his bat. - Mike Pelfrey
