Why are you limiting them to those 3? RJ is the pick, Abreu would be my next choice I think.

Abreu would be my pick and its not really close. His stats will likely be as good as beltrans this year.

You can make a case for santana but I'm not a big fan of drafting pitchers that early.

How do you figure?? Are you in the league?? The last time that he mentioned who was available, he listed Tejada as a possibility.

ender - how do you explain the fact that Abreu has never finished higher than 14th best hitter and never in the top 20 overall players before last yr at the age of 31 - yet now, after finishing 6th overall in '04, he is considered a top 10 pick?

Wouldnt the law of averages suggest last yr was on the high side for him, and projecting him to repeat is basically throwing out statistical reasoning and the age factor?

let me clarify - basically i am almost positive that the top 4 will go pujols, beltran, arod, vlad.

that leaves 1 more pick before mine (pick 6), and i am assuming it will be one of these 4 - tejada, abreu, santana, rj (maybe bonds)

drafts that ive been in never really go as planned, so i want to assume that these 4 drop all to me and i have choice of them all...

i keep switching back and forth, but am pretty sure id take tejada for sure if he's there...after that, im not so sure...i think abreu could have another monster season but RJ in NY, and Johan coming off that 2nd half cloud the picture.

in the end, i am hesitant to take a pitcher in the first round, so im kind of leaning towards a position player (tejada then abreu) but i can surely see the argument for taking either pitcher.

i appreciate everyone's help
