What you guys think of my team?

Postby Brandaddy » Wed Feb 23, 2005 10:12 am

my work called me in early so my draft was just based on pre rankings so for not being there yahoo did pretty good for me :) scoring is standard 5X5, H2H.

C - Ramon Hernandez
1B - Todd Helton
2B - Tony Womack (blah! but as a Yank should score some runs)
3B - Eric Chavez
SS - Orlando Cabrera
OF - Bobby Abreu
OF - Moises Alou
OF - Dave Roberts
Util - Milton Bradley
BN - Kaz Matsui
BN - Tadahito Iguchi
BN - Randy Winn

SP - Carlos Zambrano
SP - Jake Peavy
RP - Octavio Dotel
RP - Shingo Takatsu
P - Tim Hudson
P - Mike Mussina
P - Jose Mesa
BN - Tom Gordon
BN - Woody Williams

I think my pitching is pretty solid and my offense is decent.

Do you think Geoff Jenkins is worth picking up?

Oh yea and M. Teixeira was drafted 2nd overall, over Pujols, and the same guy in the 2nd round drafted Vic Martinez
I love my Diamondbacks!

Not bad at all.

Like your pitching, and hitting could be a lot worse. I'd personally stick Kaz in at 2B as soon as he's eligible - I think he'll have a much improved year this time out.
I wouldn't pick Jenkins up - won't do anything better than any of the players you already have.

SP is nice. The offense could be better. I would bench Roberts and put in Winn. I'd drop Iguchi and pick up Jenkins.

Keep Iguchi as insurance for Womack. Maybe you could use another power bat somewhere, but the pitching staff is great. Williams is expendable without a doubt and don't cling to Mesa if someone needs/wants another closer and you can get a big bat for him.

Your offense is fairly solid, you should be in the top 1/3 in each category. Your pitching is very nice. I agree though, try and trade Mesa for a big bat that you could use in case of injury.
