10 Team 5X5 Roto

I think Baez was going in the fifth round or some garbage (exaggerating, but only slightly). I went from "oh there are so many good players left and these suckers are all overpaying, I'll wait," to "uh... so who's closing for the Rockies again?" in a matter of a few (early) rounds. Picked up a few scraps to hopefully piece together a middling set of closers once things get sorted out at the shitty teams, but hopefully the rest of the team is solid:

P Oliver Perez, Pit
P Joe Nathan, Min
P Roger Clemens, Hou
P Mark Buehrle, ChW
P Greg Aquino, Ari
P Greg Maddux, ChC
P Odalis Perez, LA
P Mike Adams, Mil
P David Wells, Bos
Bench Chin-hui Tsao, Col

C Joe Mauer, Min
1B David Ortiz, Bos
2B Juan Uribe, ChW
3B Alex Rodriguez, NYY
SS Jimmy Rollins, Phi
OF Miguel Cabrera, Fla
OF Jim Edmonds, StL
OF Johnny Damon
OF Jason Bay, Pit
OF Coco Crisp, Cle
2B/SS David Eckstein, StL
1B/3B Aramis Ramirez, ChC
Util Shawn Green, Ari
Bench Dmitri Young, Det
Bench Ray Durham, SF 2B

Tell me what you think...

I think you did really well. I never get caught up in closer runs if it means I'm overpaying - there will always be people to pick up off the WW.

And by avoiding the runs(!), you got a really solid team everywhere else. Being a roto league, you do need some saves, so keep a close eye on Spring Training.

Otherwise, good job ;-D

Hey thanks. Yeah I am a big-time value guy, always have been even if sometimes it means sacrificing positionally. In this case, I had to draft Nathan and Aquino way ahead of where I feel their value lies b/c as you mentioned you need the Saves. What's funny is that closers went literally rounds earlier than any of the mainstream projections and even the ESPN ones people have in front of them if they haven't customized their rankings, so almost anyone would have had some indication of overpaying, but when people panic they'll make impulse buys no problem! I will definitely be watching closer situations very closely (no pun intended) over Spring Training. Hopefully guys like Adams and Tsao come through, but you really never know.

Looks like a pretty good team, I think that you should upgrade your Pitching somewhere along the way though.
