what does everyone see as their batting order this season. i'm really scared of what might happen to it, guzman leading off ( ), castilla too high ( ).
hopefully...
Endy Chavez
Jose Vidro
Brad Wilkerson
Jose Guillen
Vinny Castilla
Nick Johnson
Cristian Guzman
Brian Schneider
Pitcher
i don't know if i'd rather have wilkerson leading off or not. that is a lot of wasted power on a leadoff hitter, and a lot of wasted rbi's for him.
I rather have power wasted at the top of the lineup than have Guzman or Chavez leadoff and waste the extra AB. Either of those guys would be lucky to crack .300 OBP.

i really don't think i want guzman leading off. although he and chavez are almost exactly the same player offensively. i do like chavez base stealing ability though more than guzman.
do you have wilkerson or sledge in center with your lineup?

Leadoff man Center fielder Endy Chavez knows he won't be the club's leadoff hitter if he doesn't improve his on-base percentage. Batting first last year, Chavez's percentage was just .291, compared to .347 when he batted second. Robinson doesn't want to repeat last year's scenario with left fielder Wilkerson leading off. Robinson envisions Wilkerson batting down in the order this season to drive in runs. It's up to Chavez to reach base and keep the left-handed swinging Wilkerson in the middle of the order. "I'm working on it, doing a lot of bunting to help my on-base percentage," Chavez said. "It's going to be tough for my hitting. I'm going to try to work more and do anything I can this year to get on base." Once aboard, the speedy Chavez is an asset. The Venezuelan stole a team-high 32 bases last year, batted .277 with five home runs and 34 RBI and tied outfielder Terrmel Sledge with a team-high six triples. However, he only drew 30 walks.
this is what i am hoping for. wilkerson is better suited middle of the order, and personally, i'd rather have guzman farther down.
The Nationals certainly would take a No. 6 hitter who produced like that. That figures to be where Castilla winds up in the batting order. Robinson has not determined who will bat where, but the most likely scenario would have Castilla hitting sixth behind right fielder Jose Guillen and left fielder Brad Wilkerson.
please don't tell me it will be chavez/guzman as a 1/2.
