I started to fill in every lists top 200 (which would have given me something like 300 names) but our autodraft is tomorrow so I had to quit and set my real list, which I'm working on now. Since it's autodraft, I need to rank as many guys as possible, I just have to get to it.
Most if the guys in my league probably won't stray to far from the yahoo rankings (it's a fairly casual league, we all have jobs and kids) with the exeption of moving a handful of guys around and there's always one knucklehead that ranks all the Red Sox high since we're all from New England. So my big strategy is to set my rankings relative to the yahoo ones, so I can get the guys I want in the place I want to get them. I'll post my draft result after it goes down.
FWIW last year I was pressed for time and simply set the top 100 to the mlb.com top 100 just to be different and had a really good draft and won the league. In fact, my final roster is still left in my profile, so it's below. Though I must have had someone other than Vidro in the playoffs because I seem to remember he got hurt. I wanted to get more sophisticated about it this year and we'll see how it goes.
In any event, I hope going through this exercise will be useful to you guys. Is there a way to attach a spreadsheet to a post? I'd gladly throw it up here and let someone else take it from here. Since my draft is tomorrow, I'm done working on it!
