Well, I guess I am the only one who actually likes Gammons. No one can totally predict all of the breakout candidates, for example how could Gammons know that Kearns Prior and Affeldt would all have injury problems last year (he couldn't... except maybe with Kearns... and Affeldt... and maybe Prior as well). But my point is that Gammons has certainly talked about players before anyone else, remember his first article that mentioned Albert Pujols? (hint it was during Spring Training of his rookie year). One of the most fantastic mistakes he ever made was touting Mario Ramos...

Pickimg the Yanks or Boston in the AL is hardly soemthing to be acclaimed for. One of the 2 was the pick by just about everyone and with Gammons being the Boston schill he is, if he had picked anyone but Boston he would have been run out of town by Epstein and Henry.

How can you rip Gammons for picking Prior for CY last year? I thought Sexson would hit 45 HR and drive in over 100. Should I be ripped for that?

I wish he hadn't put Arroyo on that list I'm still trying to fetch him in trade.

I like LaRoche to improve again this year, but maybe not fantasy roster-worthy. His real baseball value may always exceed his fantasy value. When he stops getting platooned it will be interesting to see how he hits lefties.

For the guy that said forget Affeldt because of his save opps, remember that Gammons is referring to real baseball. So he's picking Affeldt to have a breakout season in the big picture, not the one category. I don't think I agree on Affeldt. He's one that I'm like I'll believe it when I see it.

I like Peter Gammons. I have learned to take his hyping players with a grain of salt, but his factual and "inside" info is always appreciated.

i like his predictions this season. Bonderman should do well, i dont know if he'll tear it up but he'll be an improvement from last season. I like his predictions on Reyes. I think if Reyes is healthy, he'll have a great year. I also like his prediction on Utley, another breakout candidate if given the chance.
