I'm in a little dilema. I'm in a ten team keeper league where we keep 8 players from year to year. Except it isn't standard 5x5. It is a 6x6. The hitting cats are standard, but OBP is added: R, HR, RBI, SB, AVG, OBP
So my dilemna is whether I should take Manny or Bonds. Normally, I'd take Manny, but the OBP factor makes me want to take Bonds. But don't really want to draft a guy who is already 40 since it's a keeper league. My draft is tommorrow. Thanks for the help.
I'd probably take Bonds even though I hate him and so do you most likely. Normally I'd take Manny also, but their stats are similar enough to have Bonds' .609 OBP or whatever, which is almost an automatic win every week for you in that cat.
Bonds. Sure he's old but he'll help as much as the next 5 guys combined in OBA. I always aim to win in the current year. If you think about the future too much you'll end up with a bad team that you'll be able to keep all of, instead of a great team which might lose a player or 2 to retirement.
"Jack, will you call me, if you're able?"
"I've got your phone number written, in the back of my Bible."
I'd go with Bonds who helped me tons in OBP and SLG in my league. However, seeing him go 3-20 with 20 walks in a week was terribly frustrating... great OBP but terrible at runs, RBIs, HRs, and so on. Well, he wasn't really, but seeing him post a night of 1 run, 0 RBIs, .750 OBP, 0.000 SLG was terribly frustrating.
