I thought maybe he'd finally start pitching when he got traded last season. I have now faced the fact that the guy just sucks. There is not much to analyze here.
Of all the guys to take fliers on, he would not be high on my list. He got picked at 299 out of 300 in one of my drafts and I would regard that as a bad pick for the guy with players like Padilla and Thomson still on the board.

Well, I certainly wouldn't consider Contreras over Padilla and Thompson. What I can't believe is how those guys are still left that late.
I may take Contreras with my last pick in my keeper league. I have nothing to lose and if he eats it, I cut his ass real quick for someone else.

In that case it is a H2H 6x6 league counting Holds, so with 35+ middle relievers being drawn into the frey, it deepers the overall starting pitching talent left.
Still, in a 5x5 Roto league I did, he went at #240. Here before such notables as Woody Williams (who I grabbed at 247), Leiter, Davis, etc. It seems like someone always picks this guy like he actually is any good.
