Will he overcome his poor start? Is now the time to buy low, or just stay away?

Buy low. He's pitched against some of the best teams in the league. Get him if you can for cheap.

buy buy buy.....roy had an over 4 era with only 1 win last april and didnt have a month era over 3.24 after that. and in 2001 in his first month of starting he had a 5.4 era. this guy is money and just a slow starter. get him cheap soon before he starts lighting it up again.

Pick Halladay back up if you can. Even with his slow start, he is still a top 10-15 pitcher in the game.

Halladay for Brett Myers?! Myers is basically a rookie.

Sure, he's got talent, but he's nowhere near Halladay's level!

I sure hope you can get him back.

sinicalypse I have two questions

1) Where did you draft Halladay (round /pick #/How many teams)

2) WHY ???

it was an autodraft, so lemme look it up and tell you.. 6th round.

for #2, halladay is the weakest link in my starting pitching, allow me to tell you what i've got going in that league:

mark prior, randy wolf, mark mulder, bartolo colon, tony armas jr, ted lilly, and now myers in place of halladay.

halladay was just pissing me off, and i really think that myers is going to be a solid pitcher this season. i think he's going to get like 12 wins, have a sub-4 era, but something like a 1.25 whip. i dunno if his Ks are there, but i like his upside.

halladay is far from a crux of my pitching staff, not to mention i've got 5 closers (rivera coming back from the DL, alfonseca still there) and i've got raul ibanez, hideki matsui, and corey patterson being extremely expendable.. hell i can even trade mondesi as he's hot right now. so evne if halladay goes buckwild, short of a collapse from colon or armas never having his early season success again, it won't really hurt me.

so thats why i did it. call me impatient, but i'm doing pretty well with my starters, and i figure that i will continue to do so all year.

well, lilly is a little pet project... i think he's going to win 10-15 this season with a sub-4 era.

how can you thumbs down randy wolf? the guy is typically lights out in the 2nd half after a horrible april, and well, he's been GOOD this april. sure he's losng 2-0 tonight thanks to kevin brown, but still, once he hits his groove, you're looking at a 15-20 game winner this season. the wolf pack will have a lot to cheer for in philly.
