I wouldn't move Morneau at all in terms of rankings. Will he be affected? Yea, but maybe the first five or 10 games at the most. The first week or two don't matter except for figuring out good waiver pickups.

To be honest, you don't know how he will recover from this. It could have 0% effect. But chances are, it will set back his workout schedule to start the season. Most players train over the winter regularly and ease into the season by participating in Spring Training games. IMO, a guy who has limited experience in the majors to begin with, not able to go through the normal process of preparing for the season will have a tougher time.
It would be wise to knock him down a bit from the rankings. But then again, if a lot of people are down on him he may actually be a bargain which I would not have said two days ago.

this not the first post i want to be reading after drafting early this morning. why didn't he report this to the team

I am not going to move him up or down in my rankings. i am hoping to actually get him much cheaper now. In fact I am off to send out an email to the rest of the league about this info just to make sure everyone knows about it.
Ha, this guy is like a walking broken mirror. Who gets chicken pox when they are 27, then appendicitis, and then pnuemonia? Guy will probably foul a ball off his leg in ST and miss the rest of the season. I'm not moving him, but thats because I already had him below Hafner.

LOL, he hit a trifecta! I may pass on him for a round or two but watch his progress.
