This is more of an attempt at a brainstorm.
I moved to North Carolina from Seattle five years ago. I still love and participate in my Seattle league, but I am still struggling to fit in and find friends in this drastically different culture. I thought a great way to find people with similar interests would be to find a league.
In that five years I have been searching for a local-ish league and all attempts have been utter failures.
I have posted at our classifieds with many bumps, posted at other sites
, scoured various matchmaker boards, google searches, just about everything I can think of doing online.
What is baffling is that I work with numerous men from early 20's to retirement age, and I've been unsuccessful in getting much interest.
I think the last straw was when I went to a local collectibles shop that, in addition to comics and card games, had sports cards. I asked him if he or any of his patrons talked about or participated in fantasy baseball. He said "fantasy baseball, is that a new game?"
ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!
Does anyone have any ideas for me and others in my situation to try?
