i know everyone jumped on the yahoo autodraft for at least one team, at least i did...the rest of my drafts are to be live.
but i got a question...
the autodraft can go many ways and can go for the best or worst in preranking your players...what im amazed about is i got no relief...none...and im not wasting my waiver pick on the few crap shoots who were left on waivers...LOGIC 1 right...?
but i tried a trade offer that came back to me in foulke for podsednik straight up, this guys has 5 releivers so 1 is nothing...but is it worth me to give the 60-70 base stealer up...?
LOGIC told me yes...top of one catagory and bopttom of the other makes me a wash...especially when i know no releif hurts more in just saves than podsednik who only is one...the other 5 catagories i believe will be more damaging to hold him...so i pulled the trigger. i have freel and figgins so i cant be that bad in steals...there are always pick up but not a foulke....
anyone have opinions on this...its funny reading these posts sometimes because i see people overthink things too much in the beginning of the season when all you really need to do is build a foundation for your team and then fill the gaps...having little speed and 1 reliever is better than most speed and no relief...

I think you did the right thing in making that trade.
You are right about relievers helping in mor than one category. Foulke will help your WHIP and ERA as well. Pods will hurt you in every other category except maybe Runs. You can find your SB in better options than Pods.
GOOD MOVE!!!

Truthfully, it depends on your categories. If you are in a 10x10 league which rewards K/9, K/BB, but doesn't count holds then you made a good trade.
Whether or not to pick up a middle reliever depends on who is available and whether or not your league uses holds as a category.

Not me, I don't like Yahoo. Too limiting with waht it can do, and I cannot check it at work.
Baseball is a game where a curve is an optical illusion, a screwball can be a pitch or a person, stealing is legal and you can spit anywhere you like except in the umpire's eye or on the ball. ~Jim Murray
