Yes doctor, I am sick. Sick of those who are spineless. Sick of those who feel self-entitled. Sick of those who are hypocrites. Yes doctor, an army is forming. Yes doctor, there will be a war. Yes doctor, there will be blood.....
Wow. I'm not sure what to say. I have always been a huge fan of his writing. Everyone should read Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas. I wouldn't be surprised if it was changed to an accidental death as Hunter was a noted gun and drug/alcohol enthusiast. There is a nice article here. Check out Page2 for some of his articles and ESPN had their own write up. link

Mahalo Good Doctor.
I know what you mean. People don't give him enough credit because they don't realize how complex his books are - look at Fear and Loathing. It took me awhile, but now the parallels to Gatsby seem obvious.
But I don't know what to say about the death. You'd think that since he made it this far he'd never die.
Wow - I cant say Im shocked - he's seems to have been a tortured soul for a long time now. His writings at ESPN have seemed to be getting darker for a little while.
It really is a tragic loss - a revolutionary writer although I disagreed with him often. One things for certain - he could draw out laughter and outrage at the same time, probably one of the rarest traits for a writer.
btw - anyone have a link to an article regarding this tragedy?

The Rum Diary is in production to be made into a movie now. Depp signed on to play Thompson again. It is supposed to be out later this year. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0376136/
