Blanton or Meyer?

Well if you only look at that I agree it is useless ... the same could be said about most independent stats, but I like to take everything into account when I look at pitchers.

About watching Blanton, I never said they guy was going to be a bum or anything cause I didn't love him when I saw him pitch. It made me respect him as what kind of pitcher he is, I actually liked him more after seeing him. That being said it gave me a better understanding of him, which to me is just a good/control orientated SP.

On him being the best pitcher rookie ERA wise, he could be, he does have a great home ballpark to aid him. Or possibly someone on his own team could better him...

Haren also had agreat year in AAA but it was his second time through, and he also had half a season of MLB experience and is ayear older than Blanton. So for 2005 - Haren will probably be close to Blanton, but I don't think he'll be as good. Both should be good right away though. Meyer needs more experience at the higher levels before he's ready for major league hitting IMO. He struggled a bit with AAA hitting, and the control he showed in AA wasn't there.

I rate Haren alot higher than Blanton for this year. I think alot of people are underrating Haren for this season.

I'd take Haren over Blanton. Haren is more experienced. Although to tell the truth, I can't see a big gap there as they are both late rounders at best.

Post All star break:
2.76 ERA

Pre All star break:
24.55 ERA

If you look at his splits, he had 3 rough innings when he got in, and from there he flat out dominated. The last two months of the season were ridiculous. This guy is my sleeper for this season.

2.76 ERA

Pre All star break:
24.55 ERA

10 ER

If you look at his splits, he had 3 rough innings when he got in, and from there he flat out dominated. The last two months of the season were ridiculous. This guy is my sleeper for this season.

Like his 19/4 k/bb though I think his overall era for 2005 will be 4.00+. Not bad for 23-25 rd 10 league draft.
