Whats the big deal with Loewen?

I never understood why some rank Loewen so damn high on their lists, his LoA stats are below mediocre and his control is pathetic. Please explain.

not only that, but he has a torn labrum that he elected to rehab rather than have surgery on... at 20 yrs old and already down that path, I think I'll stay far away from him...

i agree completely. his rankings almost everywhere have him way higher than i would expect, at least going by stats alone.

The reason people were at least high on him was cause of the stuff he has and his ceiling as being a top of the rotation guy. But since he has played he has done nothing but disappoint, first with his performance and now with injuries.

I'm sure most people aren't as high on him as they were due to these problems, but he is also so young that he can still come back and be a top prospects (afterall he was a top draft pick for a reason). He shouldn't be ranked as one of the top prospects now though, until he pitches great for a full year.

I haven't noticed Loewen being hyped as much this year. It looks like Markakis, Majewski, and Hayden Penn are getting as much attention these days as far as Baltimore prospects go.
