What does everyone think of him this year? Is he ready to have a break out year? Is he worth a pickup, if he was undrafted? Here are my predictions for him this year:

I think that he would be worth a pickup or even a late round pick if you have some question marks in your OF like JD Drew or something like that...

He's supposed to be the second coming of Berkman but Berkman had a nice year last year until he got hurt so I'm not sure Lane will play much when he comes back but, if he starts hot and you've got him as a spare, that's perhaps useful trade bait for somebody who doesn't!!

he's def. worth a pick. he's now a starter even when berkman does come back.i think its biggio in left lane in center & berkman in right.

He's been held back for years now (he's 28) so he should be more than ready to handle big league pitching. In the time he got playing before Beltran arrived he looked sharp, so he should be a nice pickup on draft day.

His numbers were good in limited PT last year, and now that the Astros are strapped for quality OF's with Beltran gone and Berkman out for a while, I think he should get plenty of regular PT which can only help. Definitely worth a shot late in the draft or a ww pick up.

I like him too but I'm not sure the Astros are quite sold on him yet. They still have Taveras that they're giving every chance to and their GM has said publicly they would be interested in a quality CF through trade.
