Lieberthal or Hernandez?

Postby chris8 » Sat Feb 19, 2005 10:21 am

We're into round 16 of my 12-team H2H 5x5 Keeper League, and it's time for me to draft my catcher.

Who would you pick out of Lieberthal (Phi) or Hernandez (SD)? I'm leaning towards Lieberthal, because I think he'll improve his numbers from last season, but you know what you're going to get with Hernandez.

Any opinions welcome, thanks! ;-D

Basically Lieberthal and Hernandez are the same player. BA .275 HR 20 R/RBI 50-60. I think Lieberthal's BA in '03 was a fluke so I wouldn't expect a return to .300. I'd take Hernandez just because he's 5 years younger and more likely to make it through the season.

Maine has a good swing for a pitcher but on anything that moves, he has no chance. And if it's a fastball, it has to be up in the zone. Basically, the pitcher has to hit his bat. - Mike Pelfrey

Pretty much a toss up but I'd go with Hernandez also as he still has a shot to take another step forward.

id take Hernandez pretty much just because of the fact that he is a lot younger, there pretty even besides that
