Morneau. I watched him play in Rochester and he's just a beast. I love 'em.

I'd take Hafner pretty easily over Morneau for this year, keeper their pretty equal.

I would pick Morneau mainly becasue of his upside. Projection wise they are close. I have them at:

Morneau 34HR 103RBI 94R .282AVG
Haffner 31HR 114RBI 105R .289AVG

Plus in an auction draft I think Morneau would come about $5 cheaper.

I'd take Hafner, I think Morneau will hit a couple more HRs than Hafner, but Hafner will beat him in R, RBI and AVG.

Where do these guys look to be drafted?

I would think Morneau would be drafted slightly higher and therefore make Hafner probably have better value since I see their stats being similar this year. Just opinion str8 of the top of my head though. Anyone agree/disagree?

Isn't it funny how much we hype up young players? To me, there is no comparison. I like Morneau, as I picked him up half way thru the season but...

Hafner in 04: 140 G, 482 AB, 96 R, 41 2B, 28 HR, 109 RBI, 68 BB, 111 K, .311 AVG, .410 OBP, .583 SLG, .993 OPS

Those are some impressive numbers in any league, any format.

I like Morneau more, I agree with what some have said before in other threads ... I see him having a Tex like break out year.

Anyone could take a blind stab at projecting 38 HRs and 111 RBIs. Just b/c Rotochumps think that Morneau is already a stud doesn't make it so. Hafner was top 10 in ML OPS. He hit 42 2B and 28 HRs in 140 games while showing improvement in the second half. I will take someone like him over Morneau 10 times out of 10 and beat you every single time.
