Would Bonds be a good pick in the 2nd round?

Postby watts1931 » Fri Feb 18, 2005 4:01 pm

I have pick 5 in the draft, it seems like my league is kind of pitcher friendly...however I've been hearing who is taking who and when. It seems to me I will be able to get Arod or Vlad at pick 5. After thinking over the strategy and figuring out who is going to pick until I get to pick again, it seems Bonds may be available in round 2 for me. (there are 9 teams in the draft).......do you guys think he is a good pick in round 2. My strategy is kind of leaning towards A-rod in round one, and then get the solid outfielder in Bonds in round 2.(each walk gets a point in my league as well). Then when I get to pick in round 3, grab a solid pitcher in maybe Pedro or Oswalt. Basically, Im just looking to see if you guys think Bonds will have trouble with injuries or since all of the media surrounding him. Thanks

Just don't rub any clear cream on your knee before you grab him in the 2nd round ;-)

In a league that counts walks, you could make the case for Bonds being an early first rounder. He is GREAT value in the second.

A point for a walk. I'd probably grab him in the 1st round just to make sure I got him. ;-D

If you are positive about him lasting until the 2nd (and you can never be sure), then wait and grab him in the 2nd.
