I think Young will have the better year. Renteria will have the green monster to hit off of, but Young put up very impressive numbers at the leadoff spot. Plus, with the wya that Texas offense is looking I tihnk he is due for a big year. Also, Renteria will not steal anymore this year in Boston, while Young will get his. What do you guys think?
While in the real world I think the two guys are very similar, in fantasy, I have to think Young is the better option. The RBIs Edgar will get in Boston will equalize the rankingsto some degree, imo, but I don't think he'll hit for as much power.
My statlines for each this year:
M. Young
.305
23 HR
85 RBI
12 SBs
Edgar
.312
15 HR
98 RBI
19 SBs
Some people will also disagree with me, but I think that Edgar will be hitting in the 6 hole in Boston, as the Sox management team loves Bellhorn in the 2 hole, with his .370 obp
Otherwise, very close

Michael Young for me. Renteria will not have many SB opps this year as Boston limits running. I feel like Renteria will go .300 13 70 104 12 while Young should go .307 24 83 123 11 .

you say you'd rather have young, but with your projections for the 2, i see renteria being more valuable.
this may sound redundant, but Im gonna go with Michael Young. think he can do what he did last year again in Texas. Also, once again, Boston does not run, and Edgar is switching league,s so new pitchers to face
Heck, back in '82 I cooda thrown a pigskin a quarter-mile!
