Austin Kearns

This guy is 25 but has yet to play a full year. His numbers projected over a full season are around .300-30-100. The Reds outfield is crowded and they brought in Randa to play thrid. Anyone know if Cincy is shopping this guy? Maybe a trade would help him. Is this guy even worth drafting? Or will he be a 4th OF all year in Cincy and should only be picked up after Griffey goes down.?

It appears that they're letting their OF situation work out, and like the depth. I think that both Kearns and Wily Mo Pena are fighting for the RF job, and when Griffey gets hurt, Wily will slide over to CF. IMO, Kearns will win the job out of ST. I'd take a chance on him in the late rounds.

The Reds value him a lot, and apparently are asking for a lot from teams who want to trade for him.

Yea I figuered that, he is very talented and was once a more touted prospect than Adam Dunn.

Talent-wise, I love him but I don't like the injury history or the crowded OF.

Wily Mo hit .202 (I'm pretty sure) in 25 games of winter ball. While there will be a rotation of sorts, I see Kearns being the main guy in RF this year with Pena sitting more often due to performance, and Griffey sitting alot too for injury concerns.

I've got Kearns as a better than solid late round pick.
