Just found fantasy stats for 2001-off the charts!

I couldn't believe the stats, ours are so damn paltry in comparison. Stud pitchers galore, five tool players, high averages, and homers! Damn...

Vlad: 107-34-108-37-.307
Sosa: 146-64-160-0-.328
Ichiro: 127-8-69-56-.350
Bonds: 129-73-137-13-.328
Abreu: 118-31-110-36-.289
Green: 121-49-125-20-.297
M. Ordonez: 97-31-113-25-.305
Manny: 93-41-125-0-.306
L Gonzalez: 128-57-142-1-.325
Berkman: 110-34-126-7-.331
Sheff: 98-36-100-10-.311
Pujols: 121-37-130-1-.329
Juan Gonzalez: 97-35-149-1-.325
Larry Walker: 107-38-123-14-.350
Beltran: 106-24-101-31-.306

Etc. And then there's A-Rod, Jeter, Piazza, Pudge, Chipper etc.

2001 season will forever be the year of Ichiro. The guy was a late pick if picked at all in most leagues and won the championship for a lot of teams.

Not so fast, I believe this was the year of Pujols! Pujols wasn't even heard of before this season, and if you picked him up early enough, he is who won people championships. Ichiro is 2nd. I won my CDM Sports Diamond Challenge because I took a flyer on Pujols very early in that season.

You can throw Roy Oswalt into the mix as well. I remember picking him up from FAs, that 2.70ERA, 1.05 WHIP was more valuable than bother Pujols or Ichiro IMO.

Early second round in my local league; that's what I get for living near Seattle. He goes first or second round every year, in a points league.

Yeah, that was a crazy year alright.

I never even considered picking up Pujols (who qualified at 3rd) until it was too late. :~(

Ichiro was a 10th round pick in my league. He had a horrible spring training that scared off a lot of people. I thought 10th round was too high back then. :~(

I was able to trade Jeter for Bonds straight up that year however. ;-D

Jesus, Sosa's season had to be like the best of all time. 146 runs? Thats insane! Throw in 64 dingers, .328, and 160 RBI, and I think you are looking at one of the best ever.

*cough* steroids *cough*

Seriously, are people so blind to think that everyone's stats just magically took a huge jump all at the same time for a few years, and then as soon as the whole steroids thing became public they all magically returned back to normal just out of pure coincidence?
