i like to pick the best available players regardless for the first 5-7 rounds fo the draft and then start filling in my team from there. my question is, when do you guys think is the best time to start going after closers in 5x5 roto?
2005 NL MVP= CARLOS BELTRAN
2005 NL EAST CHAMPS= NEW YORK METS

I'll take my first closer around R6-7. Any earlier is a waste IMO. I'd rather have Joe Nathan and Carlos Delgado than Eric Gagne and Derrek Lee.

You'll get many strategies. Here is a good one if you don't want to win a league title but are happy with top 3. It always works for me (I choke when the brass ring is right there for me...)
Slot each of your draft positions (first 7 rounds) with the position you want there and get your highest rated guy.
IE:
1st round : BAT
2nd round : BAT
3rd round : SP
4th round : BAT
5th round : BAT
6th round : SP
7th round : BAT
As for closer...I close in for them around 9th and 10 round. I'll take a Looper and Takatsu to get the early big bats instead.
My Friendliness bar...recently shrunk from 11.3 to 10mm long!!
