made you look.

well, seriously, i wanted to point out that there seems to be a lot of posts looking for owners, but also a lot of posts of owners looking for leagues...

and now i am seeing, and also partaking in myself, posts of leagues that are finding it hard to believe that they are not getting more responses to the posts needing owners.

well, i hope all those potential owners out there are taking time to check out all the posts looking for owners instead of waiting on others to comb through their posts and send them individual invites.

reason i say this is not because anyone has any more or less right or superiority, but guys, starting or running a league is not easy and tends to drain one's time. it's just statistics as to which way the formula will work better.

if you are still reading this you are probably a commish (saying amen brother! as you read this).

but in case you are an owner looking for a challenging league, one with an online auction where you pay for the players you want instead of random snake draft, one in the first of many seasons to come, one with long term contracts instead of random annual keeper selection, one with free agent bids instead of random waiver wire, one that evens the playing field for all owners with weekly moves (which also makes it easier to be in more than one league and stay competitive), one that will make your life more interesting, your mate more beautiful, your kids smarter, your knife sharper, and your nation a more compassionate world leader...

then email me and let's get this thing off the hook and dialing:

a few particulars, even though they are also posted in other posts on this board, it never hurts to have data at hand eh ?...

auction will be a live auction not random snake draft
- you pay for who you want - via rotowire using
fantasyauctioneer's system (http://www.fantasyauctioneer.com)
- likely mid march or sooner if we fill up.

keepers likely will be based on a $ cap, not random
number of players kept. each keeper is actually a
contracted player that you are committed to paying for
3 years instead of only 1;

mixed al/al

16 teams, 25 man rosters (minor league will be
established as soon as we have a small committee set
up to help handle the work. when in place, all true
minor leaguers can be signed with a built in reserve
clause that allows them to be kept by original team
for 4 total seasons w/ incremental increase in annual
salary);

no bench, all players on 25 man stats' count,
weekly free agent acquisition is via sealed bids (not
waivers unless a tie)

salary cap is based on $100, with minimum salary at
.25

actual total fee is $50 this year (hope to go to
actual money in the future, which means $100 entry
plus FA budget, but no rush, just a goal)

stats likely to be 7x7 (hit: r, rbi, hr, avg, k, bb,
sb(maybe net sb)...pitch:era, whip, w, l, s, k, holds)

will use either h2h w/ roto stats, or just roto. but
am leaning to h2h w/ roto.

basically the aim is collect a group
that will stick together and build a league that would
basically run itself on owner cooperation, and a well-
designed system.

the auction system that we will use in the workingman's local league #101 is no good if you don't use microsoft (mac version due in the future, but not this season)

i use mac myself, but will be making arrangements just so i can try this auction software.
