What they should do about Barry Bonds

Postby bane » Wed Feb 16, 2005 2:55 pm

i've heard a lot of people say that barry should retire now, before he eclipses any more homerun records. that in all likely hood will not happen. so i say that all opposing teams should boycott barry's homerun chase and intentionally walk barry every at-bat, even if the bases are loaded. lol, it might sound crazy but it'll get the job done.
sooo....is any one with me?

So you would throw a game (and perhaps your season) in order to make a statement about one player out of god knows how many who used steroids*?

The asterisks is for wreves benefit to hopefully save everyone a copy/paste debate of old material.

I think Peavy could send the message pretty good. Just make sure he aims around that body armor Bonds wears to the plate.

If there was anything opposing teams could do, I would be all for it but they all have to play Barry just the same as they have in the past years. Even without the steriod "knowledge" teams would have loved to walk him every time; it isn't as if they LET him hit HRs.

If something is going to be done about Barry and the HR record, it has to be done by baseball's front office and we all know how they operate.

i know my first comment was ridiculous, but i don't want to see barry get the record with the help of steroids.
even if the pitchers pitch like they always do, bonds will still get his
