ughh, here I was starting to like you Kent
What are they supposed to show instead? Eating contests? Strongman competitions? Or, god forbid, golf??
I never figuired out why so many Americans hate hockey, its the most fast paced sport you got. You watch baseball where an at bat takes 10 minutes while hockey bores you?!
Americans love hockey, thats why we took all the Canadian hockey teams.
The biggest reason it isn't all that popular in America as it is in Canada is that a great deal of our country isn't a glacier and kids don't grow up playing the game. Luckily our ancestors had the common sense to migrate to a climate where lakes are not solid year round.

the reason its boring is becuz its an hour long of two teams running back and forth scoring 1 maybe 2 goals all game, its just like soccer(no offense to menyak) its just not very exciting, while in baseball theres low scores but the concept of it is different from running back and forth hoping to get a goal once every game and baseball at least as a little higher scores

Mostly I think it's because games can end in ties. Americans hate ties ie. the all-star game in baseball. Football can end in ties but it very rarely does.
That's why everyone loves the NHL playoffs. NO TIES

Sucks that people can't agree to give the fans what they want...
oooooo how i hate the 'Canes...
but anyways, I hate Bettman more, hes the reason the whalers moved to Carolina, and paid Karmanos to move them
I feel most americans dont like hockey because it isnt as well advertised and its not put on tv as much, ESPN just had wednesday and thursday night hockey i believe? abc showed a game every couple weeks? I think the tv companies helped start the decline of fans along with ticket prices going up and ever since the trap came around.. its killed hockey. those 2-1 games, awful, people want the goals, get ride of the red line for passes, keep icings, that will help get ride of the trap
Hey RyanK -- is that a Hartford Whalers logo on your avitar? Very cool. I went to a few Whalers/B's games in Hartford back in the late 80s. What are they using the Civic Center for these days?
