Why not 2006? I thought it was only THIS season that was cancelled, is it next year's too?

No, but since the teams make all of their money in the playoffs and the union has forced them to cancel the playoffs, the talking heads are pretty confident that the league will make the players suffer next year by cancelling the next season as well.

I could care less about the regular season, but I honestly will miss the NHL Playoffs. They blow away the NBA's playoffs, but it looks like I won't have a choice this year. :,-(
