Bad Pick (Mark Buehrle)?

Ok, 12 team keeper league (keep 8) and we were in the 10th round. It was my pick, 10.4 to be exact. I needed some pitching and Dotel was taken two picks before me, so I decieded to grab a SP. I took Buehrle. Now I realize that in some drafts he's going slightly earlier, or a couple rounds later.

After making my pick, I'm having some worries. A lot of pitchers were taken earlier and I didn't want to be left out with a crappy staff. My hitters were pretty solid already. Just to put it in perspective, he was the 30th SP taken.

Good pick, bad pick? Which weaknesses/positions do I need to address in the upcoming rounds? Obviously I realize steals will be a problem, but I'll try to take that care of soon. Thanks for the help

I dont believe it was a bad pick depending on who was left. If it is a daily change league you might want to watch who and where you are starting him against as he wasnt a consistant pitcher last year.

At 30th, I think thats good. Kent hit it on the head, try to stay away from tough matchups with him, or home games versus good hitting teams.

I like Buehrle for this year, but I'd have to know the other SPs left. Who are the top 5 other than him still left? Probably doesn't matter that much since you've already taken him... but anyways I think most people under-rate him so I'd say good pick regardless.

Well, YouShawn, he's an okay 3rd starter. But not great. I find it hard to believe he's the best starter on the board at this point.

If I were you, I'd work on grabbing an OF and shortstop with some speed. Is either Kaz Matsui or Jose Reyes still on the table? Also, you do need another closer or two, but you've got a good staff already and after you grab another closer, I'd concentrate on rounding out my offense.

If this was a little jumbled, blame the cold medicine.

Depends on who is left, but I do not like it. A decent stick was probably still around. And guys like Maddux a few rounds afterwards in all liklihood.

Looks like you have a lot of SP crazed owners.

I do not like a lot of those mid-tier start picks. Escobar, Garcia, Livan, Penny, Vaz...all look like they are going 2-3 rounds too soon. Should have been some good sticks around as a result.

Considering you already have Schilling and Mussina, hes a very very good pick. Hes not the main man in your staff. Thats a very strong staff too.

Also, may I say that you have drafted very well so far. Your team is especially strong for a 12 team league. Great drafting. Though you may be weak in SBs so far.

I dont like the pick too much. With Scholling and Mussina you already have enough in the department to draft later average pitchers that are diamonds in the rough. Buehrle has been terribly overworked last 3 years and I am looking for a downfall this year.
