I'll dissent and say Kerry Wood.

Hudson gets the nod in wins and ERA. But Hudson has surprisingly never been a very good WHIP guy except 2003, and that took some luck on balls hit in play. WHIP will be close and my projections actually favor Wood.

Ks is the one category that won't be close. Wood is a strikeout machine and Hudson's K rate took a significant hit last year. Wood could conceivably double him up here.

Hudson for me.

I have trouble believing Wood will beat Hudson in WHIP. Wood walks too many people to do that. I see Hudson beating Wood in every category except Ks by a fair margin. You're still going to get 160-180 Ks out of Hudson and he could be a 20-game winner this year. Those Ws are tough to come by.

Maine has a good swing for a pitcher but on anything that moves, he has no chance. And if it's a fastball, it has to be up in the zone. Basically, the pitcher has to hit his bat. - Mike Pelfrey

Hudson for sure. Wood needs to stay healthy (dusty is not helping) and at least win 15 games. Plus the cubs bullpen looks bad again this year.

Hudson is better IMO

I think that you will have a better shot at getting Wood as more of a value pick in auctions though
