From a fantasy standpoint:
Nathan, Foulke, Hoffman, Benitez, Isringhausen, Cordero.
In real baseball:
Hoffman, Foulke, Nathan, Isringhausen, Benitez, Cordero.
Nathan and Foulke's ERA and WHIP will figure more into your team's ERA and WHIP because they pitch more innings, however Hoffman is a lock for 40 saves.
You cannot place another one of these closers over Hoffman in real life, however. He has the second best save percentage of all-time behind only Eric Gagne.
[quote="ScurvyDog"]A lot of poeple have been forecasting the demise of Mariano for a few years, but he continues to produce.
I agree that this year won't be as good as last couple - his skills will decline - just when?

Agreed. The rumors of Mariano's decline has been greately exagerated. When all is said and done, he is still a top 5 closer in the game.
Foulke
Benitez
Nathan
Izzy
Hoffman
Cordero
i think you can add kolb to that list with him in atlanta..
the guy had a ton of saves in MIL last year. with that rotation he should be 40+.. yes, he has low K totals but braves Closers have always been a sought after comodity.
Kolb is in no way in the top tier of fantasy closers. As you mentioned he has an atrocious K rate. But more importantly the guy is still not proven in my book. Look at his second half numbers, he was crap. I don't understand how people elevate him to being such a sure thing based solely on a good performance for the first three months of last season.

After what he did in the post-season last year, as well as the regular season, I dont understand why he's not considered one of the best in the game now
