A simple google search found this:
http://www.openoffice.org/
Download the suite and you should be good to go. I must admit I don't use it though so don't ask me any particulars on the program.
If you have any questions, I"m sure you can google "FAQ Open Office Calc" and peruse the hits.

calc is easy to use- basically everything you want to do in calc is the same as in excel. A couple things are different (pivot tables have a different name, but are otherwise the same) but they're all pretty advanced topics... definitely not needed for projections. I'm using calc exclusively now and haven't found anything i could do in excel that i can't make work in calc with little to no adaptation.
