if you had a choice between andy marte and casey kotchman, which would you choose? here are the pending factors:
marte is $2
kotchman is $4
both guys are blocked by players ahead of them. i have no immediate need at either 3B or 1B, so future potential weighs heavily, but the earlier they become mlb regulars is important too.
i have read that marte is blocked at 3B b/c chipper is definitely the starting 3B for atlanta this year and the braves have also cancelled plans to move marte to the outfield. lots of power, but low avg.
kotchman has been called the 'best pure minor league' hitter, but anaheim is so deep at every position, i can't get a good read on when he'll become the regular 1B. hits for lots of average but very low power output for a power position.
it is a 6x6 league with obp being the additional hitting category.

I'd take Kotchman just because Erstad just can't stay healthy and I believe the Angels want Kotchman there just looking for a reason, He'll go through some growing pains, but will produce. Just my opinion.

I'd go with Kotchman since he has a better chance to play early. As for as careers, it's too early/close to decide on that now.
Can't worry about tomorrow's pain tonight.
