Who to take (Keeper)

Postby brandnew » Sat Feb 12, 2005 1:53 am

Hey guys, looking for a little advice. I have a couple picks coming up back to back, one guy ahead of me. We keep 8, 5x5 roto, my team so far is M-Cab, Prior, David Wright, Lidge, K-Rod. I know one guy I'm getting with one of these picks, who should I take with the other? (I can't say who I'm taking, since it's a cafe league, same one as Mmoney, MeShawn, Flockers, etc.) thanks for the help :-)

Edmonds
Mulder
Burnett
Furcal
Loretta
Kent

I'm leaning towards either Mulder or Edmonds... what do you think?

Of those listed, I'd take Edmonds.

Yeah, you need some bats quick, before they disappear.

Alright, well I'm up. I'm going to take Mauer, and I'm still undecided on the list of those guys. Renteria can be scratched off that list, he was taken. Should I get Mulder, and then get another bat in the 7th? (I can't keep my 8th, as I traded my 9th & 11th for Wright & 18th) Or, should I get Edmonds, and reap his offense for the next 4 years, and try to grab a second tier SP next round?

Edmonds. Your staff looks great with 2 outstanding closers + prior.

OK, so my roster right now is:

C. Mauer
3B. Wright
OF. M-Cab
OF. Edmonds

SP. Prior
RP. Lidge
RP. K-Rod

I have two picks coming up, I wanna take a SP, these are the ones left:

Javy Vazquez
Penny
Clement
Colon
Livan Hernandez

What SP should I take?

And with my second pick, it doesn't have to be a keeper, so any ideas as to who I should get? I'm thinking of taking Reyes, to get some SB, and maybe he'll contend with Edmonds for a keeper spot. Or, I could go with these guys as keepers, and grab an older SP.

Javy Vazquez - no run support in Arizona, will he bounce back mentally?
Penny - Injury Risk
Clement - Switching Leagues, can he finally put it together?
Colon - Great Pitcher, great 2nd half
Livan Hernandez - Inning eater, no run support

My Vote goes to Bartolo and then my debate was between Clement and Livan, but putting me being a sox fan aside, i'll say Bartolo and Livan are your best bets. Although keep in mind how many innings Livan throws, he could start to break down this, or in a few years. If your afraid of that, go for Clement.
