Cardinals GM Walt Jocketty allowed that conservative projections have set Matt Morris' return to the starting rotation for June, though Jocketty seemed to think a more rapid rehabilitation possible.

June is a little more than I expected. May was being reported as the worse case scenerio. Hopefully he will be ready before then.

Yikes.

As much as I like Ankiel, I trust Morris a little more at this point. Hopefully if it is closer to June than May it will help which ever young pitcher that is put in the rotation gain some confidence in low-pressure situations early in the year. :-)

Morris is ahead of schedule and sporting a full beard. If all goes well he will pitch his first regular season game April 20th.
