Typically players in their contract years are more motavated to proform up to their potential. Last year an example was J.D. Drew. I was wondering if anybody had a list of a few players in their contract years. I know espn insider has one but i cannot subscribe to that survice. Any help is appreciated.
Thanks

j.d. drew's success was more based upon him being healthy than his cotract status. it just happened that he was in the final year of his deal. hed always been a good performer while healthy, hed just never stayed that way.

I have read that article before which debunks the theories but I'm still interested in the players because the other people in my league have not (read the article).

I think he meant players that will become free agents at the end of next year... Ted Lilly,Livan Hernandez and Jake Peavy come to mind?
You forgot Beltre...........

I don't believe in the contract year thing either, but the case is different for Drew I think. He was in a contract year, and while it didn't help what he did on the field like some think, it probably motivated him to get out there everyday and play through some of the nagging injuries that took him out of games while in St. Louis.
