I thought the Sandlot was one of my favorite of all time too. I had really only seen it once all the way through, so I recently watched it again.
There is SO LITTLE actual baseball in the movie. The best parts consist of the swimming pool scene, the insults, and that pudgy kid behind the plate during the game which they should have extended 10x.
The rest of the movie really reeks as a total Stand By Me rip-off and is even worse than The Wonder Years.
It's got it's moments, but NO WAY one of the best baseball movies ever, and calling it a baseball movie is a stretch.
I'm surprised so few people are saying Bad News Bears.
