How many do you keep?

I like Greinke. Despite his youth he seems like a pretty safe pick even for this year. His command is too good for him to flop, and the upside is enormous.

We keep 8. So he'll definitely be there in that group.

I have definite keepers:
Pujols
Prior
Giles
Greinke
Matsui

and then a bunch of maybes depending on performance/retirement:

Sheff
Mora
Edmonds
Furcal
Escobar
Figgins

but, yeah, I wouldn't of drafted Greinke this year this early if we were only keeping 4 or something.

If he's there in the later rounds, Noah Lowery will be a steal. I watched him confuse batters in every outing last year.

That's actually why I'm wary about him. He only pitched 6 times, which isn't a great adjustment period for others teams to get used to him. I don't know if with proper scouting he will be as effective. Don't get me wrong, I'm thinking about picking him up, but the small number of starts worries me.

Actually he made 14 starts with a 6-0 record, 72 K's, 2 CG's, 1 SHO. He's still young with a huge upside. SAve him for later, but not too much later.[/quote]

Try to get Ryan, he's a steal.

Also, try to get Bonderman, and Smoltz as well.

Shef's a "maybe" keeper? I think Steinbrenner is more lenient. I'd love to have the guy on my team just to enjoy that swing. On a tangent, has anyone ever seen him lose his bat on a swing? Has it landed?

LOL, i just meant because he might retire for all I know. If he stays another year I will obviously keep him.

Oh, thanks for the info, I thought he just made 6 or seven starts and won them all. Naive of me I guess. We'll see what happens. I have all my hitting except for a catcher, so I can fully concentrate on pitching.

I can't see Sheff retiring before he gets another ring.
