ZIG's Weekly Toss Up.

Postby Zito is God » Wed Feb 09, 2005 9:43 pm

Starting this week I will be doing a toos up of two players at a certain position a couple of times a week. Just list the reasons of qwho you'd rather take and why you think they will produce better fantasy implications.

Toss Up: Aubrey Huff or Aramis Ramirez? Discussion time...

Sean Tracey has my apologies, we all know Ozzie Guillen is an idiot. I'm rooting for you!

ARAMIS RAMIREZ... not really a big fan of Huff, he handcuffed me last year with that bad start.

A-Ram is the choice

Aramas. Not by a ton, but still. Better lineup protection with Burnitz & Nomar. Should have more RBI opps, plays in an overall weaker division (see Mil, Pit, Cin pitching), I believe has a better stadium to hit in and coming off a better year. IMO. And I'm more of a Huff fan - I have sympathy for anyone who can be productive and still play for TB in the Juice Box.

Huff by a small margin. Production should be very similar across the board although I fully expect Huff to have the higher average of the two by about 20 points. Plus he gives you the extra position eligibility.

I'd say Aramis, as I'd hope he'd pick some of the 180 RBI's that just left in Alou and that other guy.

He is now going to be a leader on this team both on the field and in the clubhouse, so we'll have to see how he handles the pressure.

very close here.

huff has the extra positional elig, and more consistent production.

aram has the higher upside, but also has the lower lowside.

I've ranked every player in the majors this year. I had a little extra time during Christmas.

Anyway, in all those ranked players, I only ranked two as exactly the same. Aram and Huff.

So it depends what you need. Huff will hit for a better average but Aram will out-homer him. Neither will steal any real bases.
