Lidge or K-Rod?

Have you heard anything about K-Rod being overused in the winter leagues?? Is it something to worry about?

No, but I hope it's not true. Even if it was, I really believe Lidge is much more of an injury concern than K-Rod. For that reason alone, I've moved K-Rod ahead of Lidge on my closer rankings.

Lidge has thrown a serious amount of pitches over the past two years (especially last season including the playoffs). With an average SP rotation, and a very weak bullpen, he's going to be asked to work maybe even harder this year.

K-Rod is your man.

I prefer to wait a few rounds and take K-Rod. Not just for value though. I fully expect K-Rod to put up monstrous numbers this year bettering Lidges great numbers.

K-Rod. He has much better bullpen support to share the load/get him the ball.

I'd be worried about Lidge's arm falling off this season.

K-Rod, for a few reasons.

1. More of a history; he's been this good for 3 years, Lidge has been this good for 1 year.

2. Team; Lidge has no setup men, nobody to hold the lead til the 9th. K-Rod has Donnelly, Weber, and Shields.

3. Age; K-Rod has room for improvement IMO, whereas Lidge has already peaked. It's a minor thing, and probably doesn't factor into my decision much, if at all, but it's still there.

4. Overuse; Lidge has pitched in way too many games over the past 2 seasons. 130 G for K-Rod, 165 for Lidge. And with the bullpens the way they are , that trend will likely continue.

That's how I come to the conclusion of K-Rod over Lidge.

i like Lidge better although i believe they will put up similar numbers in the future and this year

K-Rod should get more save opps and will come 2-3 rounds cheaper. Lidge is the better pitcher but K-rod is the better value and should have better save numbers. K-rod also has Shields to hold for him. shhh, don't tell anyone.
