i pinpointed him as someone to grab in the later rounds of my 15 team keeper league, and got him in the 22nd round. i'm pretty happy with the pick, and think it will be great value.

i was just wondering what you guys in detroit see in store for him this year?

hopefully he'll keep improving, especially with how good the tigers are looking this season.

thanks for any info

I doubt he will ever develop into a keeper unless you keep A LOT of players. He started out great last year but wore out bigtime after the allstar break. If he starts out great again this year I would look to package him up in a trade.

With a decent offense and more bullpen help this year for Robertson I would expect similar numbers to last year with maybe a slight increase in wins. I would be suprised if he ever won more than 15-16 games in a season.

The threat with Robertson is that if he falters at all, he could lose his spot. Gary Knotts is a comparable pitcher and the 6th starter, and the Tigers are loaded with young guns (and might still be looking to add another arm).

There is little chance that Robertson loses his spot to Knotts unless he really pitches horribly for a stretch. They are not going to yank Nate from the rotation for a couple of bad starts. While Knotts had a couple of nice starts he is nothing more than a long releiver IMO. Through the first couple of innings Knotts was golden but 2nd time through the line-up he struggled badly more times than not.

Nate has a pretty good stranglehold on the #3 spot in the rotation. If anyone is yanked from the rotation for struggling it will be Ledezma if he even wins a spot in spring training.

It seemed to me that Robertson's biggest problem last season was that he couldn't keep it together when things went bad. Instead of regrouping he would more likely give up a walk or a big hit. He has pretty good stuff and if he can find a way to not lose focus he could be a good pick up for you. The improvements made in the pen should help all of the Tiger starters.

is he worth like a 25th round pick in a 12 team league, i actually like the guy but it seems he isn't such a popular guy

First let me say that Spring training is right around the corner, so I am at my most optimistic.

I had him on one of my teams last season and he had some nice outings when Pettitte was injured. Robertson was throwing in the mid-90s last year with good movement. He had a pretty good strikeout per game ratio. Comming into last season he had dedicated himself to getting into top shape and showed great improvement. If he stays on track I can see him being a decent pick up for you.
And if he can learn to stay focused he could be a 12-15 game winner for the Tigers.
