I would agree with that, although 3.00 hopefully.
I have him as my #3 closer with a year to run on his contract, so I have to live with him what every the numbers. I don't think I'd be that happy with him as my #1.

I think you guys need to study up on his injury some more. I wish I had something for you, but everything I learned I learned from a topic earlier this offseason.
I will be absolutely shocked if he makes it through this season without some time on the DL or worse. I see 40 saves as highly unlikely only because of the injury problem.
I sure hope I'm wrong on this - GO M'S!

Ummm... Doesn't Eddie have a torn rotator cuff? He didn't need surgery but ins't that pretty risky? If healthy, he can put up 30-40 saves in his sleep. But that is a BIG if IMO.

the same was true with Pedro and look what he did last year. I think with the correct workout regimine you can avoid surgery in some cases.

If you get Eddie late, then he is certainly worth it. But to depend on him to be your #1 closer and save 40 games is a little bit risky. That is all I am saying.

He started as my #1 last year and I had to struggel to make up for the loss. I 'm not lanning on keeping him at all. I'd rather take my chances from the beginning.

Noway would I expect him to be my #1 closer.. but 2nd or 3rd.. Yep.. and I think he can still reach 30 saves with that revamped Mariner squad... provided he can play through the pain

Might keep in mind that while he bypassed the shoulder surgery, he did have surgery on a balky knee. Which makes him something of a two-time offseason loser.
Hey, personally I hope he bounces back and does great. But caveat emptor, as they say.
