I have B. Donnelly ( Angels ) and Rincon ( Twins ) I may be forced to dropping or trading one of them. AL only 260.00 5x5 holds DO NOT count but both of these guys help with four catagories. Which one do I keep if I have to dump one? leaning heavyly toward Rincon because I think Scott Shields may take some innings away from Donnelly.
Tough choice indeed...I think I would lean toward Donnelly...with better strikeout numbes...but that is tough...
Useless Trivia of the day
England's Worcester Canoe Club set the world record for paddling a hand-propelled bathtub. The 25 man team covered a distance of 55 miles, 425 yards in 24 hours on September 28 and 29, 1979.
It is a virtual toss-up. Shields may be a small issue, but it seems to me Donnelly will just slip into the set-up share held by K-Rod last year when Percy was closer.
Meanwhile, Crain and Romero will both be nipping at Rincon, who should be solid but no way repeats the fluky 11 wins.
I don't think you lose either way, but I'd keep Donnelly.
if you have both for the same amount of $, i would keep donnely. if one is cheaper than the other, i think i'd keep the cheaper guy, as it is really close between the 2.
i would defonitly keep rincon, i have him and otsuka as my middle relievers and my league does not count holds either, i just like what these two bring to the table and will fill in nice on days my starters are not playing or have a bad match up. but they both are very good. rincons strike out #s are great and the 11 wins last year was crazy but u got to like that if he can come close to that, even 7 or 8 from a middle reliever is a bonus
Donnelly, he gets tons of Ks and can be counted on to get more wins in his new role.
Finally, it is hard to find a reason that KRod will not be fantastic, but if history is proven anything it is that there are occasions where set-up guys who look like they will develop into elite closers falter when actually given the job. If this happens, Donnelly would be the man in Anaheim.
