I guess the Rangers have dropped out of this race also? I haven't heard his name mentioned in a while.

that would seem absolutly essential. you don't commit 75 mil to a guy coming off knee sugery w/o some type of insurance...

not that i know of. vlad was coming of a year in which he went to the DL, so it's possible, but i'm not sure.

Even if he doesn't get hurt, you can't honestly think Maggs will be a better player than Vlad? Not only his Vlad a great hitter, hes great in the OF too. A gimpy kneed Maggs isn't nearly as good in right.

i guess CM was thinking more in a way that if Maggs gets injured the tigers don't have to pay all of that money to him. last year there were also some questions about Vlad's health, but ANA sigened him for those $70 and if vlad pulled a grant hill on them, they'd be stuck with him and his salary.

or maybe CM was thinking about something else. :-D
