Upton looks to be starting the season in the minors. Quinlan may not get 200 abs. McPherson is STILL unproven. He could bust.Koskie ahead of him. Inge is a starter. He may not be a stud but many of the guys you listed won't see regular playing time. Castilla is better then most of them .
Chipper too high, Lowell too high, Beltre too low, ARam too low, Wright too low, Figgins too low (you cant think Ensberg will be better? Or shea hillenbrand) Thats just the beginning.
I think Lowell will enjoy having Delgado in the lineup, and I have always been a big Huff-fan, so I may have him higher than others... Anyways to me Chipper isnt even top 10; I think I would even take Chone Figgins over him at the 11th pick.
No offense, but that list seems WAY off. Chipper at number 2?! I don't see how that's possible unless your hitting categories include how many letter "p"s are in the players first name.
My list would look something like:
A-Rod
Beltre
Rolen
Ramirez (moves into #4 hitting spot)
Huff
Blalock
Mora
Chavez
Lowell
Wright
I am the Master. Don't question the Master. Just do what he says and be proud.
One reason the Braves always find a way to win their division is because someone steps up. I think it's Chipper this time around.
He's put up monster years in the past. He's a career .401 OBP! Not to mention he has arguably the best 1-2 duo in the Majors in front on him to drive home.
Am I supposed to penalize him for cheating on his wife?
Nah, you are supposed to move him down because of how good 3B is at the top. Chipper, if he plays good, will probably hit .300/30/100. Even that may not happen. However, ARod, Beltre, Rolen, Aramis, Huff, will all more than likely do that. If Mora isn't a fluke, he'll do it too. Blalock will probably end up with better numbers in HR/R/RBI. If Wright hits major league pitching like he did last year, he'll probably hit or come near that plateau also. They are all safer bets to do that than Chipper, who is coming off a positively awful year and, lets face it, hes no spring chicken anymore. If you had to ask me, I think I'd have the list like this:
ARod
Rolen
Beltre
Aramis
Huff
Blalock
Chavez
Mora (can make a huge leap, but I'm sort of scared)
then guys like Chipper, David Wright, and Mike Lowell come into the equation. Troy Glaus too, if you are feeling ballsy. But there are just better, more productive options at 3B than Chipper. Chippers numbers are starting to tail off in AVG, OBP, and SLG. Thats always
