HITCH...The Cure for the Common Man

If you've seen the coming attraction for it, what do you think of this movie? If you haven't seen it, follow the link: http://movies.channel.aol.com/movie/mai ... &mid=17497

I think it looks interesting and with Will Smith and Kevin James (King of Queens), it could also be funny.

I may need to call on Hitch pretty soon b/c I need a date for Jr. Prom and I'm gonna need some help (yes, again - I already know I have problems :-b ). For some reason, I'm just not friends with a lot of girls, so it's definately not easy. One of my best friends thinks they feel a little intimidated because I am the defending HC King and I'm kinda shy around them, two things that don't fit. He may be right - there is definately something holding me back (maybe all those rejections?). Listing the couple of straightfoward concerns I have isn't hard (if you are interested I'll list them and you "experts" can give it a shot); it's how to solve them that is.

For those of you following my last thread about that girl (the long one), it's not really a big deal anymore. First, I have come to the conclusion that she is indeed a definate slut (it was surprisingly easy to tell as of late) and if she has a bf now, it's either her ex who is a pothead or some guy who's been with many, many girls. Figures...

But if you forgot, what do you think of Hitch? I know I got carried away on the other topic...

It's inevitable Rico. You see, my school is a LOT different than the high schools some of my other friends go to - much more racy, more drugs, sex, etc. Our school is mentioned in the newspaper A LOT for things like this. College may seem easier after going through this lol.

But I'm just really nervous about this Prom thing. I've never gotten a yes when I've asked a girl out (and I've asked out a few girls before) and I fear that I can't get a date (and according to the President of the Student Gov't that I'm friends with, 100% of the people come with a date). It would be a HUGE confidence boost once I get that "yes" and I would sink to rock bottom if all my buddies got their dates and I'm left out in the cold. That's the major issue in my case.

And hey - some sequals are good lol. :-D

You mean you go to a school with a bunch of easy marks, and you are the 2 time King, and you still aren't getting any? You need to lose that fear, because fear is the only thing we have to fear. Just play it cool, and forget about it. IF one girl shoots you down, there are plenty more, and you should have plenty of options since it sounds like you are one of the most popular guys in the school. And if you don't get a date, you can always take your mom :-D .

Probably more for the Prom, but it wouldn't hurt for this date to become my gf too lol.

OK, well that makes it easier then. Asking someone to the prom and the prom alone is easy b/c nothing has to come of it and the girls know this just as well. If anything it serves a dual purpose as a first date. Get it out of your head that you're looking for a girlfriend. You've got a solid 5-10 years before you should be thinking about commitment and all that crap. It's easy to successfully ask a girl if she wants to hang out with a bunch of other people from school under your formal escort.

Solid advice. Although I enjoyed most of the proms I went to, it's pretty overrated. It's just a dance, with a lot of parties afterward. If you can just keep that idea in your head, you might be able to calm your nerves. And remember, that's want girls like: a guy seemingly without nerves and a lot of confidence.
