LOL, that's what I was thinking too......
How beatiful, after I read the comment from Mr. Grumpy #1 and then browse the thread, here chimes in Mr. Grumpy #2 himself. You two crack me up. ( isn't it great how in preview mode, the "angry" emoticon shows the same a you click, but when you post it shows up Kisses)
My assumption is that GotoWar is more willing to educate himself than you two guys. The best way to learn is from your mistakes and he is attempting to do just that.
So, how is your comment about our comments any different? We were critically commenting on Agnes's strange decision to post a prediction that was wrong and then pat himself on the back.
Pat myself on the back? Where in the hell do you read that in what I wrote?
FWIW, I often go back at various points in the year and get a laugh out of predictions I made and others amade. It's not a freaking contest to see who's the predicion god. It's just fun to see whether what you wrote in February makes any sense in July.
While I did miss Sammy's numbers by a bunch, so far, my general theme of warning people away from picking him was right on target. The upside on Sammy was likely to be small and the downside...well, that's what we got.

And I do.

My favortite from LB was the Clemens prediction
LBJackal wrote:No (Clemens great finish to last year is) more evidence that people who own him will have their jaws closer to the floor when he starts giving up gopher balls left right and center (but mostly left, with that short porch). There's no reason other than coicnidence that he was that much better at home. He got his fat contract, and in his mind is in Del Boca Vista right now. Not something I'd invest in.
im suprised to see you guys get so defensive over my comment. gotowar drags up an old post to prove how right he was, but in fact he was completely wrong. so what, he has to eat some crow. what's the big deal?
To be honest the player had nothing to do with this. but if we must go there...

So i shouldnt have taken a chance on a guy who may hit 35 jacks with 90 rbis and 90 runs?! youre right, im clueless. why would i ever want my players to hit lots of homers and get me lots of rbis?! IM SO FREAKING CLUELESS!

If that's his upside, he's a corner OF, and I tell you that there's a decent chance of a total freaking meltdown? Yeah, you shouldn't have taken a chance.

so you predicted him to hit .250 with 35 homers 90 rbis and 90 runs....and you predicted him to have a meltdown?!
GotowarMissAgnes wrote:So, in short, I'd say a Sammy rebound, if it happens, is likely to be small. A small decline in BA, maybe a small bounce in R and RBI, and a medium drop in HRs is the likely outcome this year. And, I'd say the risk of a total freaking meltdown is much, much, higher than a return to stardom.
He's just the kind of high risk low reward older player I'll be letting others take the chance on for draft day.
