I've been a sucker for Furcal seemingly every year, and every year he seems to find a way to screw things up with injuries, errors, or K's. He's fast and brings a decent bat, but I don't like how he thinks he is a homerun hitter lately. I think it hurts him in other areas---like average (who knows how much better, but you can't help but think it's a factor) and more importantly, OBP---something you need with a speedster like Furcal in a lineup that can bring him home.
I also am a sucker for Furcal. There's something about him that I just like..... That said, I drafted Renteria for his career season a couple years back, so I don't mind him either. Overall, if forced to pick I'll probably take Furcal everytime. I just don't see Renteria coming close to that 2003 season again, but Furcal seems to put up solid, and generally similar, numbers every year.....

Really? I've always found Renteria as a much more well rounded player...
But upon looking at the stats, I think my opinion is skewed because of Renteria's dream 2003 season. Furcal is definately better, I better keep that in mind when drafting...
I have had Furcal in a nl keeper league for 4 years. Finally giving him back this year. He is extremely talented, fairly durable, and a good bet to improve on his last year's numbers. With Chipper and Giles healthy he should be able to have a monster year. All that being said. I would keep my eye on Francona's early spring lineups, if Renteria hits in the 2 spot on the sox, he easily could score 110+ runs and drive in 90+... The bottom of the redsox order could be filled with hi obp guys and allow him to repeat that monster 2003 season
