Balancing Points Leagues

Postby nettles3Ball-star » Thu Feb 03, 2005 1:52 pm

Looking for examples of points leagues in order to create a balance between hitters and pitchers. If you're in a good one, please leave your stat categories and point values.

Also, considering the categories below: what values would you assign? would you add/delete any to make it balanced?

R, BB, HBP, 1B, 2B, 3B, HR, RBI, SB, CAUGHT SB, E, GIDP

W, L, SV, HLD, K, ER, R, IP, H, CG

Thanks for your help!

My league built this system based on one that Sportsline had four years ago. Everyone likes it. Pitchers are worth about 95% as much as hitters.

Here is what my league uses. Some of the point allocations seem strange, but this sysytem weighs pitchers and batters very equally. In 2003 the average difference between the top 80 batters and top 80 pitchers was only 1/10 of a point. In 2004 the average difference was only 7 points.
