I wrote this topic on another thread and got a split vote, so I'll give it one more shot. Tejada or Helton in a league which counts 5x5 plus OBP and Total Bases. Need two starters at each infield position.

it's not even close Helton blows Tejada away in both OBP AND Total bases. Go with Helton

Actually, Tejada had 349 total bases last year compared to Helton's 339. Tejada also outhomered him by two and crushed him in RBI. My only dilemma is this: is that sick avg. and obp Helton provides worth giving up the positional advantage that Tejada brings?

Tejada Gives you a awesome position value over Helton. Go with Tejada over Helton for that reason alone. No shortstop puts up numbers close to Tejada.

in normal 5x5 tejada has the advantage imo...but with your stats i would take helton and his super high OBP

Actually, if Nomar stays healthy with proper motivation (playing for a big contract), he is just as good as Tejada.

But the position thing is overrated. Tejada has been more up and down with his numbers than Helton. Given OBP and TB, I would prefer Helton but it's very close.

ok, so if nomar stays "motivated" to play (which he didn't seem last year) and has a big year, there are 2 (3 with Young) top tier SS. At 1B there is helton, delgado, ortiz, thome, teixeira, plus a bunch of dark horses like lee, giambi, sexson, huff, and konerko. 1B is super deep. SS isn't at all. therefore tejada is a better pick than helton. you can get power numbers from your SS in round 1 and power numbers from your 1B in round 5.

Tejade on position eligibility alone. You have to get two SS, you can find 2 1Bs later.
